To carry our research in the fields of philosophy and philosophical and cultural anthropology and of their application to educational philosophy and education science.

To contribute to the development of researchers, doctorate and master's students and technicians in those fields.

To carry out initiatives aimed at transferring knowledge to the educational and politico-socio-cultural sectors.

Functions:

To work out and implement educational programmes and curricula in the areas included in its speciality, either directly or in co-operation with state or private organizations.

To see to graduate education in the areas included in its speciality, organize seminars and courses and co-operate in their implementation.

To co-operate with qualified organizations interested in issues related to its goals, by conducting research or providing advice.

To relate to national, foreign and international organizations devoted to the study of or research into similar issues.

To disseminate the results of its activity.
